AMBASSADOR ENGLISH TO OPEN REGIONAL

ANTI-TRAFFICKING SEMINAR

 

Sarajevo, November 14, 2007 – The U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is pleased to announce that U.S. Ambassador Charles English  will deliver opening remarks at the second regional seminar on anti-trafficking on  Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. in the Holiday Inn Hotel in Sarajevo, Congress Hall.  All media are invited to attend the event.

            This is the second regional seminar on transnational referral mechanisms for trafficked persons in South-Eastern Europe.  The participants will include BiH officials, members of the main international and UN organizations, and ten national delegations from the South East European countries (Albania, BiH, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and the UN-administered territory of Kosovo).   The seminar aims to further strengthen anti-trafficking coordination mechanisms within and between countries.  

            Together with the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), USAID/Washington-funded Transnational Referral Mechanism Program organizes and the BiH Ministry of Security hosts this event.
