USAID MISSION DIRECTOR TO OPEN ONE STOP SHOPS IN BUGOJNO

Sarajevo, February 27, 2007 – USAID Mission Director Jane Nandy will open a new One Stop Shop (OSS) in Bugojno on Wednesday, February 28, 2007.  The ceremonies will be held at 1 pm, in Bugojno municipality building.  All media are invited to attend. 

            The OSS space in Bugojno municipality was remodeled through the Government Accountability Project (GAP) with a contribution from the municipality.  The municipality has received a full package of technical assistance from GAP.  The One Stop Shop staff was trained in customer service and public relations.

            The Bugojno municipality has also received three grants from GAP.  They were used for the construction of the Social Welfare Building, and reconstruction of the town marketplace and Sports Hall floor.

            The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) jointly funded the $20 million GAP.  The project assists local governments in BiH to increase their efficiency and accountability.
