USAID MISSION DIRECTOR TO OPEN ONE STOP SHOPS IN GRADISKA

Sarajevo, March 5, 2007 – USAID Mission Director Jane Nandy will open a new One Stop Shop (OSS) in Gradiska on Tuesday, March 6, 2007.  The ceremonies will be held at 11 am.  

            The OSS space in Gradiska municipality was remodeled through the Government Accountability Project (GAP) with a contribution from the municipality.  The municipality has received a full package of technical assistance from GAP.  The One Stop Shop staff was trained in customer service and public relations.

            The Gradisla municipality has also received four grants from GAP.  They were used for landscaping pathways and a picnic area on Kozara Mountain, purchasing equipment for the city Concert Hall, construction of a sewage system in Brestovcina village, and purchase of equipment for the Transfusion Department in the Gradiska General Hospital.

            The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida) jointly funded the $20 million GAP.  The project assists local governments in BiH to increase their efficiency and accountability.
