USAID APPOINTS NEW MISSION DIRECTOR

Sarajevo, October 24, 2006 – The U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is pleased to announce that Ambassador Randall L. Tobias, Director of U.S. Foreign Assistance and USAID Administrator, has appointed Jane Nandy as the new USAID/BiH Mission Director.                   

“I am honored that I will have the opportunity to lead this mission.  We will continue to work hard to assist BiH on its way to European integration. We will cooperate with our local partners in a joint effort to make this country a better place for all BiH citizens,” said Nandy. 

Prior to 2005, Jane Nandy served as the USAID/BiH Deputy Mission Director.  She also served in USAID’s missions in Egypt, Romania, Nepal, Haiti, and the Philippines, overseeing and managing large democracy, economic, health, education and training programs.  Nandy holds a Masters of Arts degree in International Administration.  She is married and has two daughters.
