Sarajevo, December 6, 2007 – The U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), is pleased to announce that U.S. Ambassador Charles English and Norwegian Ambassador Jan Braathu will officially launch a joint “Excellence in Innovation” program on Friday, December 7, 2007, at 4:00 p.m. in the UNITIC building in Sarajevo (room 8 at the mezzanine). All media are invited to attend the event.

            USAID and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will jointly fund this three-year, $5 million program.  The program aims to increase the use of value-added information and communication technology (ICT) among BiH small and medium enterprises in wood processing, agricultural, tourism and light manufacturing sectors. 

            The “Excellence in Innovation” will work to strengthen BiH companies’ ability to offer new, high value-added products and services that are in demand in the domestic and global markets.
